Network Rail approves
high-integrity video link technology
|
|
Digital
Barriers has received the latest certification of its COE video transmission
equipment, for use by Network Rail across the UK rail network. The COE X-NET
CODEC-TE system is used in transmitting video signals over a digital network
using Ethernet and IP protocol, with applications in level crossing
monitoring, tail lamp cameras and other signalling applications requiring
video transmission over a digital network (FTN, Ethernet LAN, WAN).
Certification followed an extended monitored site trial by UK Network Rail
engineers.
The X-NET
CODEC-TE video link consists of encoder and decoder cards, offering one, two
or four channel encoding and decoding. The use of Ethernet across many
industries for data transmission - such as the upgrade of the Network Rail
FTN network - has resulted in many peripheral communications devices adopting
Ethernet, and the X-NET CODEC-TE family is the latest in the COE range of
advanced video transmission solutions to be aimed at this network standard.

Digital Barriers acquisition of
video analytics business
|
|
Digital
Barriers has announced the acquisition of Keeneo, a company providing
proprietary video analytics software solutions to the rail, mass-transit,
aviation and industrial sectors from its operational base in
Sophia-Antipolis, France. The business will be known as Digital Barriers Solution
Engineering following integration of the business. Its video analytics
solutions enable the real-time detection of human intrusion and other
pre-defined activities or incidents in a targeted 3D area or zone. The
technology is based on a patented '4D' solution that can intelligently adapt
to its environment and mitigate changing illumination or adverse weather
conditions.
