COE was commissioned to design, manufacture and supply transmission and command and control equipment for 10 Metro corridor stations and 8 Rail corridor stations for Delhi Metro
Project brief
Delhi Metro Rail Network required a comprehensive surveillance network across 10 stations of their network, with a connected infastructure to unify their surveillance activities.
Analysis
This project was comprised of two distinct elements. Firstly, there was a necessity for command and control equipment at 8 stations along Delhi’s rail corridor. The second requirement was for a sophisticated 10 station fully networked infastructure allowing viewing of any camera on any station in real-time.
Solution
COE provided equipment for a sophisticated network to operate with minimal fibre usage. Multiplexing was employed to maximise the number of channels which could be transmitted over a single fibre. For Delhi Metro, 160 video channels are transmitted simultaneously, with the option of expansion of up to 240 video channels. The system is made dual redundant by inclusion of hot-swap technologies.
Benefits
- Huge expansion capability of the networking solution.
- High level of system integrity with dual redundancy incorporated.
- Highest quality images provided at every location; independent of transmission distance and switched route.
- Low-cost solution achieved through optimal use of fibre optics.
