COE Ltd was involved in the Keighley, Bingley and Shipley CCTV scheme. Due to infastructure limitations, a solution requiring only one fibre core between centres was requried.
Project brief
Bradford Metropolitan Borough Council required a CCTV solution which linked the regions of Keighley, Bingley and Shipley. These regions are close to 10 miles in distance from one another. Due to a limited availability of fibre infastructure, a solution requiring maximised usage of a single fibre core between each centre was required. This system also required facility for expansion, which was realised when the system was extended to integrate Bradford City Centre’s surveillance requirements, bringing the total camera count of the area to well over 250.
Analysis
Bradford required a highly manageable, scalable solution to their CCTV requirements which enabled optimisation of a limited fibre infastructure and an integrated CCTV delivery and management solution.
Solution
COE products are designed to be highly scalable and flexible in their deployment. This made them ideal for use in Bradford’s CCTV infastructure and its expanding requirements. COE transmission equipment was used to deliver video operational functionality from a variety of PTZ and multi-function dome cameras to a central control room. The use of COE Telecommand complemented the transmission solution through its unique video networking capabilities which allowed the managed use of trunk video channels between the three centres on an ‘as required’ basis. This kept costs to a minimum whilst maximizing highest quality video availability for the operators at each remote site.
